Hammock Weight Capacity Comparator
Hammock product pages state a weight capacity. Hammock strap pages state their own, separate weight capacity. We fetched both, from four named brands' own current pages, and found two different labeling problems that neither page mentions on its own.
"Single" and "Double" don't mean what you'd think
ENO's own FAQ states plainly: "All SingleNest and DoubleNest Hammocks are 9'6" length to the
fabric ends and will safely hold 400 lbs." One person's hammock, two people's hammock, the
identical 400 lb ceiling. Kammok's own product pages do the same thing at a higher number — the
Roo Single page and the Roo Double page both state "Industry Leading 500 lb Capacity." The word
on the label describes the fabric's shape, not a lower rating.
The straps carry their own number, and it isn't always the hammock's number
ENO's own Atlas Straps page states a 400 lb capacity, matching its standard hammocks — but ENO's
own Helios Ultralight Straps page states only 300 lb. Kammok's own Python 10 straps page states
500 lb, matching the Roo line — but Kammok's own Python 10 Ultralight straps page states 300 lb,
the same drop. Put a 500 lb-rated hammock on 300 lb-rated straps and the system holds 300 lb, not
500 — a number neither page states, because neither page is written with the other one in mind.
Grand Trunk and Hennessy don't publish a separate straps figure this session found, so their rows
below are checked on the hammock's own number alone.

What this does not do
- It compares one or two current models per brand, not every model, fabric weight, or discontinued line each one sells.
- The "system capacity" for a hammock-plus-straps pairing (the lower of the two brands' own stated figures) is this tool's own arithmetic, not a number printed on either brand's own page — neither brand states what happens once you combine its hammock with a lower-rated strap.
- It only applies a straps figure to hammocks from the same brand as the straps. Cross-brand pairings (an ENO hammock on Kammok straps, or either on Grand Trunk's or Hennessy's) aren't checked here because no brand states a figure for that combination.
- It is not a knot, anchor, or tree-safety recommendation — only a comparison of stated weight figures, side by side.
